Goodland, IN man dies of injuries from U.S. 41 crash

Authorities in Indiana report a 19-year-old Goodland man pulled from his burning vehicle last week has died of his injuries. Nolan Ganz was the driver of a stalled vehicle (Wednesday) on U.S. 41. His car was hit from behind by a northbound pickup truck. Newton County Sheriff’s Police reported the pickup driver and Good Samaritans pulled Ganz from his burning vehicle. He was air-lifted to an Indianapolis burn center.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office reports Ganz died of his injuries.

Sheriff’s Police say the crash remains an active investigation. The crash occurred about 10:40 am on Highway 41 at County Road 1700 S. The Ganz vehicle was disabled for some reason in the northbound passing lane when it was hit from behind (by the pickup driven by Kristie Johnson of Fowler). No charges have been filed. Sheriff’s Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact authorities.
