Cleanup continues for residents and businesses in Livingston County and other communities after the severe weather ripped thru north-central Illinois Wednesday night. The National Weather Service cinfirms there were nine tornadoes that touched down. The worst area hit was Pontiac.
Governor Bruce Rauner will visit with citizens and first responders at business site on Route 116 and I-55 in Pontiac today (Friday).
Pontiac, Ottawa, Marseilles, Seneca and Earlville weree among the areas damaged. Rauner said he's receiving regular updates from state officials concerning damage assessments and cleanup. The govenor said he and his wife are thnking of those injured or sustained property damage.
Meanwhile-- Senator jason Barickman said his office is providing help for storm victims. He encourages anyone in need of assistance from the stomr to contact his Bloomington office at 309-661-2788.
