Gradert, Unit 9 BOE going separate ways

                  amicable separation agreement

The Unit 9 School Board and superintendent Guy Gradert have agreed to an amicable and mutually-agreed upon separation.

The decision was announced following an executive session of the Unit Nine Board last (Tuesday) night. The board approved the separation agreement on a 7-0 vote.

Board President James Bruns offered a prepared statement saying it should be well-understood there is no fault or misconduct; it’s a mutual decision to end our contractual relationship. The separation is effective June 30.

Bruns said the board will begin the process of searching for an interim superintendent. It’s hoped to have a permanent superintendent to start out the 2020-21 school year.
