Grundy County Board chairman Ron Severson has decided to seek appointment to state Representative Pam Roth's 75th District seat in the Illinois House. Roth anounced this last month her resignation due to her husband's job transfer to Texas. She will vacate her seat by the end of the summer.

Severson was born and raised in Kendall County near Minooka, where his family had a cattle ranch. He has lived in Grundy County for 22 years and has served on its county board for 11 years.
