A two-vehicle crash involved an SUV and a Com Ed service truck left one dead and onother injured in Grundy County Monday.  The driver of the SUV died at the scene after running into the service truck head-on.  The Com Ed driver was not injured. 

Sheriff's Police report it happened on Route 113 near Higgins Road.  Police attempted to stop the SUV but the driver turned onto 113 from Route 47, passed another vehicle then crashed into the Com  Ed truck.  It happened about 12:30 pm. 

 One person was killed in a two vehicle crash that occurred in the area of Route 113 and Higgins Road around 12:30 this afternoon.

The identity of the driver is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.  The driver of the Com Ed truck was transported to a local hospital with non-life threaening injuries. The Illinois State Police is handling the investigation.
