Kankakee police investigators are following up on reports of shot fired Monday night in the 400-block of S. Indiana Avenue. No injury was reported. No damage of any kind. Police reports indicated shell casings were found.

Squad car hit by gunfire –

Will County Sheriff’s Police are investigating after a department squad car was hit by a bullet. Deputies were investigating gunfire reports Sunday morning when they noticed a parked squad car had been hit by one of the gunshots. No deputies or anyone from the public was injured. No arrests have been made.

Prison term for Joliet man –

A 23-year-old Joliet man will spend 10 years in prison. Bryant Smith pleaded guilty to a weapons violation in Champaign County. Smith admitted having a gun in a bag that also contained cannabis he was trying to sell. He also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
