Harbor House opens new emergency shelter in Iroquois County

It’s a means of safety and security for victims of domestic violence. And Harbor house is excited and proud to officially announce the opening of a new Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter in Iroquois County.
Harbor House Exec Director Jenny Schoenwetter says this shelter is a life-saving venture, meant to be a resource for so many victims. She says help is out there . The Iroquois County shelter is in addition to one already operating in Kankakee County.

The emergency shelters are operated with confidentiality, making sure the safety of all concerned are in place. A 24-hour Hotline is always available at 815-932-5800.
Shoenwetter wants all victims to know they can reach out……

"The shelter serves as a haven of safety for survivors fleeing or homeless due to a domestic violence situation," Schoenwetter said.  "Survivors trapped or feeling hopeless should know there's options out there, resources are available and the Harbor House shelter is an answer.  ."

The un-announced emergency shelter site is all about providing confidential help, comfort, healing, joy, and peace while that victim seeks their journmet to a better life.  Trained and compassinate personnel are ready to help.
