The Harvest Moon Drive-in Theater at Gibson City is back open after Gibson City received record levels of rainfall last Thursday.  Parts of the city received up to 11 inches of rain, forcing the Harvest Moon Drive-in theater to close.

Within 72 hours, the drive-in re-opened thanks to its employees and community volunteers cleaning up to save equipment. The drive-in was open over the weekend.
Kathy Harroun said “We had probably about 10 to 12 inches worth of water in the snack bar and other buildings. And then our back-projection booth had quite a bit of water in it as well.”

The drive-in is borrowing equipment from other facilities until replacement parts can be ordered.  The Harvest Moon Twin drive-in theater is located at 1175 S. Sangamon Avenue, juts off Route 47 in Gibson City.
