Illinois State Police investigated a head-on crash Monday on Route 17 at Kankakee County Road 7000 W.  58-year-old John Brinkman was arrested for drunk driving and improper lane usage, after he crossed the centerline and hit the oncoming car driven by 21-year-old Jacob Hansen of Kankakee. 

Brinkman was air-lifted to an Oak Lawn hospital in critical condition.  Hansen and three passengers were treated for minor injuries at Provena St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee.
