Both drivers involved in a head-on collision Monday night east of Kankakee were killed.  Illinois State Police and the Kankakee County Coroner's Office are investigating. It happened just past 9 pm at Skyline Road (6000 E).  Police reported one vehicle crossed the center median and hit the second vehicle headon.  Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.  One passenger in the first vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The eastbound lanes of Route 17 were closed until about 2:30 am.
