Experts say temperature records may be broken this week throughout the Midwest and Northeast.  The National Weather Service says some places could experience the longest heat wave they've seen in decades. The highest risk is in the Great Lakes region, including Chicago.  Temps could reach 15 to 20 degrees above normal today (Monday) and even hotter the rest of the week.

Citizens should seek cooling centers in their communities. Also check on neighbors and relatives who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
