Herscher preps for Labor Day parade

It’s one of the biggest downstate celebrations in the state. Herscher’s Labor Day Parade is taking shape for 2018.

“An All American Homecoming — A Salute to the Red, White and Blue” is this year’s theme for the holiday parade.

The village of Herscher and the Herscher Chamber of Commerce host the 98th annual Homecoming and Labor Day Celebration.

The parade committee is looking for Herscher High School graduates to get involved in decorating a float. The Herscher High School classes of 1948, 1958, 1968, 1978, 1988, 1998, 2008 and 2018 are asked to to build a float for the Labor Day Parade.

Additionally, any graduated class of Herscher High School is welcome to enter a float in the parade.

Parade application forms are available at the Herscher Village Hall and Midland States Bank in Herscher.
