The Hoopeston City Council (Wednesday) gave its unanimous approval to the fiscal year 2015-2016 budget. Revenues are listed at $2,613,000 while projected expenses are at $2,417,000.

The city's Tax Incremental Finance (TIF) district budget is in the books at $436,000.
The water/sewer budget includes an additional surcharge of $2 for water and $5 for sewer for the water/sewer infrastructure. That would generate an additional $138,000 per year, which is channeled to a new special account, the Maintenance/Repair Account, for use of the water/sewer infrastructure only.
