Two Hoopeston men were arrested Thursday for allegedly possessing methamphetamine. An active warrant led officers to 42-year-old Anthony Chandler. He was wanted for failure to appear for possession of meth. Officers made the arrest on South 1st Avenue at 1 am. Chandler was taken to the Public Safety Building at Danville.
Hoopeston officers then arrested 48-year-old Robert Phillips on East Main Street just before 10 am Thursday. An active warrant out of Douglas County for violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act. He was also found in possession of meth. Phillips was held for transfer back to Douglas County.
