Two new officers will be on the job for the Hoopeston Police Department. Chief James DeWitt announced the hiring of Marvin Dobkins and Joshua Douglas.
Dobkins transitions from part-time to full-time status, effective yesterday (Friday 9/28). He’s been working part-time as patrolman since May. Dobkins has also 33 years experience as an Auxilliary-Officer for Hoopeston.
Douglas begins training at the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center. His tour of duty begins this weekend. A native of Watseka, Douglas has served as a Watseka Auxilliary officer. He’s the son of Watseka Police Chief Jeremy Douglas.
