A traffic stop on W. Washington Street in Hoopeston (Wednesday) led to two arrests. The driver and a passenger face charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of meth precursors and possession of drug paraphernalia.

18-year-old Elyscha Wells and 38-year-old Juan Colunga, both of Hoopeston, face arraignment in Vermilion County.

Police stopped the vehicle knowing the vehicle had an expired registration.
