A Hoopeston man faces theft charges in connection with stolen playground equipment. 65-year-old Larry Lane allegedly took the playground equipment from a site where it was being stored awaiting set-up at McFerren Park.
Hoopeston City employees were contacted by a salvage operation saying someone had brought in several pieces of playground equipment. The salvage firm was checking with the city to make sure it was not good property. The items were retrieved. Lane was cited by police for violation of a local ordinance.
Hoopeston Police also report a residential burglary in the 700-block of E. Wyman Avenue. The victim reported the front door of his home was kicked in. Several items were taken.
In another incident – 37-year-old Suzie Davis of Hoopeston was arrested after a traffic stop. Davis was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
