Horse buggy – dump truck crash kills one, injures two

Sheriff's Police in Parke County, Indiana investigated a crash Friday that killed a man and injured two others. The crash involved an Amish horse buggy and a dump truck.

Police report the crash happened around 7 pm near Billie Creek Village on U.S. 36.

Officials at the scene reported the driver of the dump truck was blinded by the sun and hit the buggy. There were five passengers in the buggy when the accident happened.

Two of the passengers, including a young child, were airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital. Their conditions are not known. A male was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Officials also reported two horses were killed in the accident.
