A reward is being offered for the shooting death of a horse. Vermilion County Sheriff’s Police are investigating. Anyone with info about the case can contact the sheriff’s department at 217-442-4080. A Hoopeston woman posted the details on social media (Facebook).
Kristy Garrison said her son A.J. owned a horse named Apache. The horse was discovered dead from multiple gunshot wounds (Tuesday) She said a trespasser on A.J.’s property shot Apache. Garrison wants the person responsible held accountable. Garrison called Apache a “kind and gentle animal” and said the discovery has left the family mourning.
A $200 reward was posted initially for anyone who could provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. Garrison adds, since the news was posted, more people upset by the crime also stepped in to add to the reward. It’s now offering $1,500.
