Visitor restrictions have not been put into place, but area hospitals and nursing homes are asking the public to consider their own restrictions and precautionary measures in dealing with influenza-related illnesses.

Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana announced a high number of patients with respiratory and influenza-like illnesses recently and Carle is requesting community help. The hospital’s Emergency Department announced illnesses have peaked, creating increased demands on resources. To meet the high demand, Carle Health is asking the community for more awareness.
