Hoopeston Public Library has received a $2,000 Rotary District 6490 Grant thanks to the efforts of the Hoopeston Rotary Club. The funds will be used to update the library’s youth room with new furniture and materials for programs, activities and reading space.

According to Library Director Tricia Freeland, the grant will enable the library to proceed immediately with improvements they have been planning.

The local Rotary Club members also plan to help library staff with furniture assembly, painting, and other aspects of the redecorating. Earlier this fall, the library introduced a new weekly afterschool program, Youth Jam, geared toward students from 3 rd through 8 th grades. These activities are being held in the youth room.
