A Grundy County man was killed in a two vehicle crash on Interstate 55 near Elwood Friday morning. The Illinois State Police said a vehicle operated by a 36-year-old male from Gardner struck the rear of a semi driven by a 52-year-old male from Roanoke, Virginia. Both vehicles were traveling northbound at the time. The victim was identified as Timothy Thomason.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Will County Coroner’s Office investigated along with ISP. No other injuries were reported.
