The Illinois Department of Transportation continues its road work project, replacing a bridge over the Kankakee River.

Southbound traffic was flowing again this (Tues) morning after being shut down Monday night. Northbound traffic will be closed tonight from 7 pm 'til 6 am Wednesday. Motorists should be aware of detour signs and be alert for work crews.

The project is part of a $19 million bridge rebuild program through the Illinois Jobs-Now Program.
