Two people were treated for what State Police reported as minor injuries (Friday) when a semi-trailer struck the rear of a vehicle being towed on Interstate 57.
The accident happened a little before 8 am near Paxton and brought traffic to a stop along the interstate.
The morning fog was a factor. Police reported a southbound vehicle driven by a Chicago resident was towing a car in the right lane at a slow rate of speed due to the dense fog.
A semi-tractor trailer failed to reduce speed and hit the rear of the vehicle being towed.
The semi driver was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
The Paxton Fire Protection District assisted State Police at the scene.
