A Gary, Indiana woman was injured this (Tuesday) morning in a traffic accident on Interstate 57 near Paxton.

21-year-old Ambriah Williams was hospitalized. She suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to Illinois State Police.

It was just before 8 am when Janice Nieman of Buckley crossed into Williams’ lane to avoid merging southbound traffic. Williams lost control of her car, which went into a ditch and hit several trees.

Nieman was not injured. She faces preliminary charges of improper lane usage.
