Iroquois West Middle School 6th grader Nolan Manzki is the 2019 spelling champion – the 53rd Annual Spelling Bee, heard on 94.1 WGFA this (Friday) morning.
Nolan Manzki and Crescent City’s Kobie Hendershot were the two finalists after 22 spelling stars started the competition at the Unit #9 Administrative Office.
WGFA’s Don Elliott presented the words. After Kobie mis-spelled cruelly, it was Nolan’s turn.
Nolan correctly spelled c r u e l l y... then spelled d e c e i t f u l for the championship.

3rd place finisher was A.J. Rogers --- Donovan 5th grader. 4th place went to Michaela Gibbs a 6th grader at St. Paul’s Lutheran School. 5th place was John Nash Middle School 5th grader – John Randles.
The Annual Spelling Bee is sponsored by the Iroquois County Retired Teachers Association.
