The Board of Education at Iroquois West is following the lead of a Community Focus Group in asking voters for the OK for a new high school. The April 2nd referendum vote also includes a new football and track facility.

The $25-million building referenda, suggested by the Focus Group, came about after months of study in trying to find a long-term plan for the Unit 10 school district.

Superintendent Linda Dvorak explains “we wanted a master plan for agiung buildings over the next 20-30 years.” The district has 3 buildings over 100 years-old. The plan, Dvorak says, is to avoid any knee-jerk situation to decide hefty repair needs or future building.

Three community focus meetings were held, engagement meetings, to get necessary input. The consensus was to build and not put money into aging buildings.

A campus layout is the desire.
