Iroquois County motorists traveling thru Watseka will have to deal with a detour beginning Monday.  The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced the Illinois Route 1 / TP & W Railroad crossing on Watseka's east edge will be closed Monday, November 7.  The closing is for about 10 days to allow the railroad to rebuilding the crossing.

A posted detour will direct motorists to use County Highway 40 (Woodland Road) to gain access to Routes 24, Route 49 and Route 1.

Drivers are urged to use caution and expect delays along the detour route.
