IL Community Colleges see first enrollment increase in 10 years

Illinois Community College enrollment has outpaced nationwide trends. Recovering from the pandemic, community college numbers are showing a positive increase. Governor JB Pritizker says it's a direct result of our state's wonderful faculty and educators as well as determined students -- ready to jump into their learning.  Illinois Community College Board President Brian Durham says "it's a testament to the hard work and dedication of community college faculty, staff and leadership."

Kankakee Community College's V-P for Advancement, Marketing & Public Relations, Kari Nugent, says "the value of a community college education is strong, and it's encouraging in showing how much degreed-students can earn."  Nugent adds, program costs are affordable and KCC helps students prepare for careers and family planning." Nugent also said "it's a great time to begin your career."

Durham also said it's great to see more technical and career students back at school, since much of their learning has to be done in-person, not just online.
