You may see a lot of orange this week.  Bridges and buildings will light up to honor those who have died in work zones and to raise awareness as the Illinois Department of Transportation signals the start of the construction season.  Governor JB Pritzker has procalimed today thru April 30 as "Work Zone Safety Awareness Week" in Illinois.

I-57 in Kankakee County is getting a re-surfacing do-over.  Construction has statrted on a 9-mile stretch from Chebanse to the Kankakee River bridge.  Motorists are advised to slow down and be aware of work crews.  The project will continue into October.

A two-vehicle colission on State Road 18 in Indiana claimed a life Friday evening.  20-year-old Aaron Jackson of Brookston died in the White County  crash.  Indiana State Police reported Jackson's westbound vehcile crossed the centerline and hit another unti headon.  Two people in the other vehicle were injured.
