The Illinois House of Representatives has adopted a resolution congratulating Jim and Nancy Reynolds of Iroquois County on their success with Freedom Hill Farms, one of the largest horse-breeding farms in Illinois.

The resolution was sponsored by State Representative Tom Bennett.

“For more than three decades, Jim and Nancy have built a reputation as world class horse breeders and trainers,” Bennett said. “They have served our community and our state, while always working to be valuable members of the Watseka and Iroquois County communities.”

Freedom Hill Farms is a 157-acre farm just outside Watseka. Jim Reynolds is a former teacher, college professor and member of the Iroquois County school board. He served as Director of Fairs and Promotions for the Illinois Department of Agriculture during the administration of former Governor Jim Edgar. He and Nancy purchased the farm in 1979, along with their sons Keith and Kristopher. Today Freedom Hill houses 38 mares and 25 foals, and horses from the farm have a long record of harness racing success across the country.

The legislation is H.R. 66. It was adopted unanimously by the Illinois House on Feb. 5.
