Illinois police departments have vacancies to fill

Several Illinois law enforcement positions are available and municipalities and counties are advertising for patrol officers.  Kankakee, Champaign, Danville, Lafayette, IN advsie interested applicants to apply.  Kankakee Police Chief Robin Passwater says 11 positions need to be filled to return the department to full capacity.   Iroquois County Sheriff Clint Perzee invites applicants to apply.

Meanwhile -- Indiana is putting out its welcome mat for Illinois police officers not happy about the vaccine mandate.  Thousands of police officers must provide their vaccination status and get tested twice a week if they're not vaccinated.  If not, they go on "no pay" status.  Indiana Senator Mike Braun has tweeted his office is ready to help connect police officers to an Indiana department that is hiring.
