Illinois Route 49 reopened after bean truck mishap

Illinois 49 in eastern Champaign County was reopened to traffic Tuesday morning following a truck rollover earlier that morning.

Illinois State Police at Pesotum reported soybeans spilled out of a truck between Ogden and Homer a little before 7 am. The route was cleared and back open by 9:45 am.

Police said a grain truck driven by a 44-year-old man from Strawn blew a tire causing him to lose control. The truck hit a guardrail and rolled on its side, spilling beans over the road and blocking both lanes.

The driver refused medical treatment.
