Support for local businesses is being pushed by three agencies in Kankakee County.  During the stress of the current COVID-19 pandemic, shoppers are encouraged to Stay at Home - and Shop Local to support small business.

The Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce, Manteno Chamber of Commerce and the Kankakee County Convention & Visitors Bureau are parterning to support struggling businesses, especiallly those forced to close under the executive order.  IL'ove Local campaign, this week April 11-18, asks people to support local businesses. "We want local businesses to survive," says Manteno Chamber President Sarah Marion.

Statistics from FEMA indicate that small businesses are under stress. Roughly 40-60% of small businesses forced to close after a disaster never re-open.
