It was a first at Kankakee Community College Wednesday. An inauguration ceremony on the riverfront campus recognized the 7th president of the community-college. Dr. Michael Boyd was officially recognized. He began his new role at KCC in July.

The event, according to Boyd, was about the college’s history in the community and what it means to the area. Boyd told some 300 plus in attendance this event was about recognizing the years of leadership….from past presidents to instructors, students and the board of trustee members. Boyd also talked about the many challenges ahead in education.
