The Iroquois County Board (Tuesday) approved a 75 percent tax abatement for the Icobrasa Soybean Processing Plant in Gilman. The company is involved in a new addition, the abatement applies only to the expansion project. The abatement covers a 10-year period. The just-approved tax break is similiar to one the county approved in 1995 when the processing plant first built its operation, west of Gilman. That too, was a 75% abatement. The new 75% abatement is for the new expanion.
