Indiana 4-year-old suffers fatal injuries in Vermilion County crash

A four-year-old girl died of injuries from a crash Wednesday in Vermilion County.

Kimberlie Davis of Williamsport, Indiana was identified as the victim. Coroner Peggy Johnson said the girl was strapped in a booster seat in the backseat of a vehicle. The driver lost control and rolled the vehicle along County Road 2650 N, southeast of Bismarck.

Sheriff’s Police and the County Coroner are continuing their investigation into the tragic crash. It happened near Stateline Road.

The child was pronounced dead at 5:49 pm. Wednesday at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville..
Sheriff’s Police report the vehicle was being driven by the victim’s mother...32-year-old Amanda Davis of rural Williamsport. Police were told Davis was passing another vehicle which was traveling in the opposite direction on the gravel road when Davis lost control. The vehicles did not strike each other, police said, but when Davis lost control her vehicle left the road and rolled.

The girl who died is a triplet. One of the other triplets was ejected as the vehicle rolled, but escaped unhurt. The other triplet and a 10-year-old riding in the vehicle also escaped injury.

Coroner Johnson says preliminary autopsy results show that Kimberlie Davis suffered head injuries. No tickets were issued.
