Indiana man facing drugs, weapon charges

Rantoul police report an Indiana man who stopped to read a map at a Rantoul gas station is now facing felony charges – after weapons and drugs were found in his vehicle.

24-year-old Joshua Wozniak of Michigan City (IN) was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of weapons, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis, DUI, and possession of weapons without a FOID card.

An officer approached Wozniak’s vehicle to see if he needed help when he was observed reading a map, just off I-57 Thursday morning.

The smell of alcohol prompted more questions and a search. Wozniak admitted having cannabis and smoking materials in his car, then a loaded .38 caliber handgun and rounds of ammunition were found in the car’s console.

He has a court date next month.
