Indiana traffic accident: victims air-lifted

Nine people were injured when a truck and a jeep collided Saturday night near Reynolds, Indiana. White County Sheriff's Police investigated on US 421 and county road W 375 N.

Deputies said two vehicles were involved in the crash. One vehicle was a white Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 61-year-old Junior Siezmore of Wolcott was stopped while southbound on US 421. Police reported he was waiting to turn left onto eastbound CR 375 N.

A Jeep, driven by 51-year-old James Wenrick of Lafayette was southbound. He hit the pickup in the rear. The impact caused the Jeep to roll upside down with multiple passengers inside.

Several of the injured people were later transferred by helicopter or ambulance.

Several emergency response teams were at the scene, including White County Sheriff's deputies, Monon Police, Monon Fire Department, Monticello, Reynolds, and Chalmers Fire Departments.
