Infant among 3 people killed in Livingston County Crash

                                                  Three Streator Residents Killed in 1-Vehicle Crash near Gridley

 

Three individuals from Streator were killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred around 11:15 a.m. on July 2nd. The Livingston County Coroner’s Office said a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Darwin Jiminez Chirino struck a concrete bridge railing on the west side of 700 East Road in rural Gridley. The vehicle hit the object head on causing extensive damage to the front end and driver side of the vehicle. The accident claimed the lives of three Streator residents and all were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Livingston County Coroner.

No one was ejected from the vehicle. The rear seat passenger was 21-year-old Karen Lopez Surrudo and an infant child also a rear seat passenger. The Livingston County Sheriff's office is investigating the accident, the Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction unit was called to the scene and will work with the Sheriff's office on the case.
