The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office (Wednesday) identified 38-year-old Aaron Moore of Chicago as the victim killed in Tuesday’s shooting. County Coroner Bob Gessner said an autopsy was scheduled.

Moore was pronounced dead at a Kankakee hospital after the shooting in the 500-block of South 5th Avenue. Kankakee Police did recover a gun at the scene. A second victim was also treated for non-life threatening injuries.

27- year-old Malik A. Jones of Kankakee was taken into custody. Jones has been charged with homicide and aggravated battery with a firearm, according to police. .
Investigators recovered a gun at the scene that they believe was used in the incident. Anyone with information regarding the shooting can call 815-933-0426.
