Iroquois Board Chairman, Copas, resigns

Rod Copas is out as Chairman of the Iroquois County Board.

Copas, who was on his way out at the end of the month, stepped aside early. He told the Times-Republic, he'll be unavailable for a few weeks and didn't want Board Vice-Chair Kyle Anderson to have to get in touch with him for any decisions.

Copas is still a board member until November 30th.

Copas lost a re-election bid in the March Primary Election. His term ends November 30th. The County Board holds its re-organization meeting December 1st when new members are seated and a new Chairman and Vice-Chair are voted in by the board members.
