Iroquois County: 2 men arrested for concealing a death

Two men are jailed in Iroquois County charged in the case of another man whose body was found inside a gas-tanker near Buckley.  The death of 29-year-old Garrett Meyer of Nashville (IL) remains under investigation.  Meyer's body was discovered inside the tanker June 4 (2021). 

33-year-old Billy Roof III of Kankakee and 37-year-old Ryan Morrow of Tallula, IL are both facing charges of Unlawfully concealing a death and possession of a stolen vehicle.  Roof is also charged with Unlawful Use of Account Numbers.  The two men were arrested by Iroquois County Sheriff's Polcie with assistance from Kankakee Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Garrett Meyer was found dead inside the tanker by another person who had problems draining the tanker and then found Garrett's body obstructing the flow.  How the body got into the tanker is part of the investigation.  An autopsy later revealed Garrett died of an overdose.
