The unexpected resignation of finance director Anita Speckman has forced the Iroquois County Board into emergency mode.
Speckman’s resignation letter was presented to the full board today (Tuesday) by Board Chairman John Shure...

"I received the resignation letter Monday, so I announced to the board today," Shure told WGFA News. "It wasn't something we were expecting, we didn't anticipate this so we have to get ba search underway."

Shure says it’ll be a real challenge moving forward. The position has required an astute person to keep on top of money-matters.........

"It'll be difficult moving forward. Anita has set a standard for the job and certainly did a good job," Shure added.

A search committee was immediately put in place to find the next finance director. Board members Michael McTaggart, Kyle Anderson, Russell Bills, Charlie Alt, Donna Crow, Dan Rayman and Troy Krumweide will take up the task.
