Traffic signals are in place for as major road construction project in Watseka. Motorists traveling Illinois Route 1 – north and south thru Watseka – should be well aware that the bridge over the Iroquois River is being replaced. The construction will continue until the latter part of this year.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has traffic lights operating. Route 1 traffic is limited to one lane just north of Watseka. IDOT and Iroquois Paving Corporation crews will be on-site for the next several months. Traffic will be delayed. Alternate routes may be a suggestion to avoid the delays and construction.
