Iroquois County Fair continues …

The Iroquois County Fair drew at the usual great crowd for the demolition derby Thursday evening. Draft Horse and Hitch competition is today and the Talent Show is at the 4-H Center at 6:30.

Illinois’ Bicentennial year brings the Illinois National Guard 144th Arm Band to the Crescent City fairgrounds. A 7:30 performance is this evening.

4-H clubs and the Chebanse American Legion Post 408 raised the flags Wednesday to get the 2018 fair underway.

Chebanse American Legion Post 408 members James Smith, Nic Smith, Todd Fatka, Dave Trout and Ron Lukow raised the American flag.

4-Hers Cassie Peters and Zach Price introduced the local clubs and their representatives. The local clubs presented their banner.

Fair Board President Marvin Perzee introduced Rep. Tom Bennett, thanking him for the legislative effort in getting Gov. Bruce Rauner to redistribute funding for county fairs. Perzee said at least premium money was restored after going unpaid for several years. Illinois county fairs will share $5-million dollars.
