Iroquois County Fair Queen places among top 15 in State Competition

                                     Miss Perry County, Addisyn Calloni, crowned new Miss Illinois Fair Queen

Erin Anderson of Rankin, Iroquois County's current County Fair Queen was among the top 15 in state competition this past weekend in Springfield.  Miss Anderson was among 71 county fair queens on stage at the Crown Plaza Convention Center.  That's where the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs held its annual convention, the 111th such event.  The queens were judged on personal interview, stage presence, beauty of face and physical condition, speech and communication skills.

Erin is the daughter of Todd & Sara Anderson.  Erin's a student at  Danville Area Community College and will transfer to Purdue University to major in Ag Communications. She was crowned Iroquois County Fair Queen in July 2021.

The new 61st Miss Illinois State Fair Queen crowned Sunday in Sprinfield is 19-year-old Addisyn Calloni of Royalton.  She will serve as a summer employee with the Department of Agriculture.  She will host the 2022 Illinois State Fair and DuQuoine State Fair.

Talent Show winners from Illinois county fairs also competed and entertained at the State Show.  Iroquois County's Senior Division winner, Mitchell Galyen of Watseka, won the State 1st Place Award with his piano solo, "Bumble Boogie."
