IROQUOIS COUNTY FAIR TALENT CONTEST

Entries for the Iroquois County Fair Talent Contest are now being accepted.  This year marks the 42nd year of the perennial fair favorite! 

Contestants must be residents of Iroquois County or regularly enrolled in a school located in Iroquois County.  All entries that are 14 years of age and under as of July 19, 2013, will be entered in the Junior Division.  All entries that are 15 years to 21 years of age as of July 19, 2013, will be entered in the Senior Division.  Judging of the performance will be based on a total of one hundred (100) points: Costume 10; Audience appeal 10; Stage presence 30; Ability 50.

The Iroquois County Fair Talent Contest will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013.  The Junior Division will begin at 6:30 P.M. in the 4-H Center.  The Senior Division will begin at approximately 8:00 P.M.  Ribbons and prize money will once again be provided by the fair board.  In addition, the fair board will furnish an expense stipend for participation in the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs State Talent Contest in January, 2014, at Springfield.

All entries MUST be mailed and registered by June 15, 2013 to Iroquois County Agricultural & 4-H Club Fair; P.O. Box 301; Crescent City, IL  60928.  Late entries will not be accepted.  Each participant is responsible for making his/her own entry.  Auditions will be held on Monday, June 24th, at the Crescent City Community Center from 3:00-6:30 P.M. All entries must participate in the auditions to qualify for the fair contest.   An electric full keyboard will be available to contestants at the audition and at the fair contest. 

Accompaniment CDs are acceptable; however, cassette tapes are not acceptable at the request of the contracted professional sound company employed by the Iroquois County Fair Association during fair week. Participants will receive further audition details upon receipt of the registration form.
