“Jellical Cats” and Mood Swing will represent Iroquois County in Springfield at the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fair (IAAF) Convention.
The two local groups, respectively, won the Junior and Senior Division of the Talent Show at the Iroquois County 4-H and Ag Fair (Friday evening).
The locals will entertain at the IAAF Convention in Springfield next January.
The 4-H Center was the setting at the Crescent City fairgrounds. Twelve talent show acts performed at the 45th Iroquois County Fair Talent Show.
The “Jellical Cats” were purring their way onto the stage. Lily Anderson, London Clark, Lillian Eheart, Annika Greene, Addie Kingdon, Kasyn Legan, Madelyn Loy and Rae Stucki meowed to Jellical Cats”.
Mood Swing with Alexis Krones, Hope Longest , Jessie Page, Taylor Schippert, Madiysn Shambrook and Courtney Thompson provided a tap performance to “In the Mood”.
The Junior Division brought three entries with 1st Place going to the Jellical Cats.
Second place went to “Not About Angles “ consisting of Hope Aaron and Allison Wessels with a contemporary dance duet.
Third place went to Megan Schippert who performed “Anything Goes”.
The Senior Division consisted of five entries. Mood Wing captured 1st place.
Second place went to Sarah Lamping with her rendition of “A Time to Say Goodbye”. Third Place went to “Emergency Taps” a tap duet by Hannah Eheart and Autumn Haskins.
Rounding out the Senior Division was Bailee Arseneau singing “Bound to You” and Taylor Clark singing “When We Were Young”.
Emcee Jayne Henrichs introduced the acts as they took the stage. The Future Stars of Iroquois County Division winners is, “Hear Here Hero’s” consisting of Brycea Brown, Cabery Brown, Maggie Dictke, Gabby Gunther, Lillie Harris, Livia Kollman and Bailey Rader, they entered our hearts with a shown stopping tap number “Wonder Women/Super Hero.”
In the Junior Showmanship Division “Jungle Boogie” took first Place. Performing in this group was Danielle Germain, Raegan Gooding, Owen Heuring, Tanikqua Holmes, Kirstyn Lucht, Kennedy Oster, Makenna Pankey, Haylie Peck, Oliva Simons, Elizabeth Wittenborn and Brynlee Wright.
The Senior Showmanship division included two entries. Ellaine Hibbert won the contest with her Musical Theater Dance to “Hot Honey Rag” and second place went to Jordyn Ward with her vocal solo to “Orange Colored Sky”.
The first place winners in both the Junior and Senior Divisions will represent Iroquois County at the State Fair Talent Show in January 2017.
Judges for this contest were Jill Pope, Karen Thornsbourgh and Gloria Sanders.
As the judges tabulated the scores, the audience was entertained by “Revival”, local trio, consisting of Kena Clark, Jayne Henrichs and Mendi Wolfe.
The Fair Talent show committee consists of Pat Ward, Chairperson, Pamela Hibbert, and Gary Cahoe.
