As the high school prom and graduation season arrives, healthcare providers again push their campaign to decrease underage alcohol use.
The season calls for celebration, that sense of accomplishment and family success. The Spring season should not bring tragedy and regret.
The Juvenile Justice Council has made positive strides in the last three years trying to deter underage drinking. Too often, first responders are forced to deal with young people losing their lives due to alcohol use. Alcohol is a factor in more than 43-hundred young lives each year.
Percentages are hard to come by, but Paramedic and Watseka Fire Chief Tim Ketchum says it’s a heart-wrenching experience.
